Atrium – Departmental Archives of Isère (ADI) D3 architects – CR&ON Architects

The central Atrium of the Isère Archives embodies the interiority of the project. While the monolithic and hermetic exterior facades (mineral entities formwork in one piece and without window), the heart of the building can be discovered and reveals ample spaces, bright and monumental.

The verticality of the hollow interior space, lit from above, an expression of the protective cavity, indicates to everyone that the Departmental Archives are above all an administration at the service of Memory and our common Identity. They constitute our strong interior.

This space is covered by a French box beam ceiling. Evocation of our technical and architectural history. This checkerboard game illuminated by a series of skylights bathes the whole space in a clear dark typical of the realizations in the service of the public.
